The FSC “HEALING” describes the polarization of water from Lake Syezzhee, which is located on the outskirts of the village of Syezzhee and is one of the most revered holy places in the Samara region. Archaeological excavations on a high hill near the lake showed that there were ancient settlements here. According to the stories of the old-timers of the village, hermit monks lived on the shore of the lake. In January 1958, Zoya, a worker at a local pig farm, went down to an ice hole in a then unnamed lake at four o’clock in the morning to get water. And suddenly I saw a shining, slightly clouded image of the Kazan Mother of God in the air above the lake. In the following days, several people again saw the image of the Virgin Mary above the water. From that time on, prayer services began at the lake on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On this day, July 21, hundreds of pilgrims gather at the lake in Syezzhe.
